Amanda K Silvers - Registered Veterinary Technician and Office Practice Manager
Amanda joined the BVC team in the summer of 2010. She is a graduate of the Veterinary Medical Technology program at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. She is originally from Florida but has lived in Burnsville since 1997. Caring for animals is her passion, from hamsters to Great Danes, as she believes all creatures deserve kindness and respect. Her personal creatures include 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a chinchilla.
Sheena Harris - Veterinary Technician
Sheena joined the BVC team in August on 2017 after completing her intership with us from the AB Tech Veterinary Medical Technology program. She is a native of Madison County. She has 6 dogs, 3 cats, and 4 reptiles.
Gina Vargo - Vet Tech Assistant/Kennel Manager
Gina joined the BVC team in Fall of 2007. She is originally from Charleston, SC but has lived in Burnsville for over 30 years . Gina has 4 dogs and 4 cats. She loves spending time with her family and pets.
Carrie Smith - Vet Tech Assistant
Carrie joined the BVC team in March of 2017. She is a native of South Carolina but relocated to the NC mountains where she lives with her husband and her 5 dogs, 1 cat, and her 2 horses. When she's not working she enjoys trail riding.
Karissa Peterson - Receptionist
Karissa joined the BVC team in December of 2017. She is a Yancey Coutny native who has six dogs and a hermit crab. She loves spending time with her family and pets.
Tonya Styles- Receptionist
Tonya joing the BVC team in February of 2018. She is a fomer Radiology Technologist for the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC for 29 years.
Louisa Yuziuk - Kennel Tech
Louisa joined the BVC team in the summer of 2016. She is a native of Yancey Coounty. She loves animals and is currently also a full time high school student at Mountain Heritage. She plans to study to be a Veterinarian one day. She lives with her parents, 2 cats and 1 dog.
John Hardin - Kennel Tech
John joined the BVC team in the spring of 2016. He retired from teaching Social Studies at Mountain Heritage High School. He is a native of Florida, but has lived in Western North Carolina for 34 years. He is married to Yvonne and has 2 adult sons and 4 dogs.
