Amanda Silvers - Registered Veterinary Technician and Office Practice Manager
Amanda joined the BVC team in the summer of 2010.  She is a graduate of the Veterinary Medical Technology program at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.  She is originally from Florida but has lived in Burnsville since 1997.  Caring for animals is her passion, from hamsters to Great Danes, as she believes all creatures deserve kindness and respect.  Her personal creatures include 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a chinchilla.

Heather Carney - Receptionist

Heather joined the BVC team in the summer of 2013.  She has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years and loves working with both animals and their owners.  Heather is originally from Georgia but has family from North Carolina and loves the mountains.  She has 2 Australian Shepherds and a Border Collie mix.

Gina Vargo - Vet Tech Assistant/Kennel Manager 
Gina joined the BVC team in Fall of 2007. She is originally from Charleston, SC but has lived in Burnsville for over 30 years . Gina has 3 dogs and 4 cats. She loves spending time with her family and pets.

Cherith Austin - Receptionist

Cherith joined the BVC team in the summer of 2016.  She is a native of Yancey County where she and her husband Andrew run their family dairy farm.  She enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her Golden Retriever, "Magnolia".

Ashleigh Jones - Receptionist
Ashleigh joined the BVC team in January of 2017. She is a Yancey Coutny native who loves the beauty of the mountains and spending time with her husband and yorkie Ruby.

Tristan McCarty - Kennel Tech
Tristan joined the BVC team in the summer of 2014. He loves animals and is currently also a full time student at South College of Asheville studying to be a radiology technician. His hobbies include contruction and auto mechanics. 

John Hardin - Kennel Tech
John joined the BVC team in the spring of 2016.  He retired from teaching Social Studies at Mountain Heritage High School.  He is a native of Florida, but has lived in Western North Carolina for 34 years.  He is married to Yvonne and has 2 adult sons and 4 dogs.
